The world's largest Pumpkin Festival takes place in Ludwigsburg each year where 400000 pumpkins become art!
Every year they have a different theme. Thema 2014 was Royal Kürbis. (Kürbis is Pumpkin in Germans)
The Fest this year ran from August 8 untill November 3. The pumpkin fest is held in the gardens of Ludwigsburg Palace. You can go inside the Baroque Palace. So it's like two in one, palace visit and a pumpkin festival. Double the fun, ayy?

Here they sold different kind of pumpkin from aroung the world. They are in different shapes and sizes. I didn't know that pumpkin can be so interesting.
So, here are the pictures where pumpkins turned to arts. It blew my mind how creative people can be.

Other attraction there is the food. All base on pumpkin. They have Jam, Wine, Juice that you can bring home. But there are also stalls there that served food for you. Soup, Spaghetti, Cake, Muffins, Pommes, Crepe, all of them base on pumpkin. It's simply delicious!
Here are more art to show, these are bigger. There is also a small lake in the garten.

Venezianische Messe Ludwigsburg (Venetian Fair)
The day we went for the pumpkin festival, there was also Venetian Fair being held. A festival lavish with colour and joy of life. Thus we decided to go there too. The price for student is 7 Euro.
This festival was held at Ludwigsburg city center which take about 10 minutes walk from the main train station.
Here people wore spectacular masks and costumes (That's why there are people wore beautiful costume at the Palaca Garden, I assumed). People were enjoying the music/show programs with their drink on their hand. It offers a top class-class program of acrobatics, music, drama, fire magic, clowning, dance, and songs. You feel like you were back in time!
There were also booth that sold masks, costumes, leather bags, jewelry etc. There are more than 50 dealers, some of them traveled from Italy to promote their merchandise.
Most of the people who wore mask and costume are old people. Way to Go, Grandpa and Grandma!
Oh and you can take picture with them. Kein Problem.
|I believe that this is their Rathaus.|
So that is it. Just a bunch of pictures to tell you the story.
